Ismail Haniyeh: I am going to Cairo to review the Paris plan

The head of Hamas's political bureau said that the group is considering the Paris meeting's proposal to stop the war in Gaza.

According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, said that the group has received the proposal of the Paris meeting regarding the cease-fire in Gaza and is considering it for a response.

According to the Arab48 website, Haniyeh said that the priority of Hamas is to stop the war and the withdrawal of all Israeli soldiers from Gaza.

The Israeli, American, Egyptian and Qatar reached an agreement in Paris on Sunday on a framework to stop the war and release other Israeli prisoners. A plan that US Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken described as “strong and convincing” in a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart in Washington.

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim, the foreign minister of Qatar, also pointed out last night that the negotiations regarding the Palestinian and Israeli prisoners have improved compared to the previous weeks and said: “The current stage of the negotiations can lead to a permanent ceasefire in Let the future lead”.

Israeli TV also reported that the Paris meeting has ended and “there has been progress in the negotiations. In this meeting, the plan to release prisoners was reviewed in several stages. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office also called the talks “constructive”, but at the same time said that there are still “big gaps”. He also announced on Monday evening that constructive negotiations are underway regarding the release of prisoners in Gaza.

There are hopes for an agreement to end the war in Gaza, even though 116 days have passed since its beginning and so far 26,750 people were martyred and 65,631 people were injured, and more than 7,000 people are still missing and under the rubble, and heavy bombardment of different areas continues.
