Iran and Pakistan agree to increase measures against terrorist groups

In the meeting of the Iranian Foreign Minister with the Pakistan Army Commander, while emphasizing the implementation of existing agreements between the two countries, it was decided that by expanding the cooperation between the military and security authorities, measures against terrorist groups will increase even more.

According to the correspondent of the foreign policy group of Fars news agency, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who responded to the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Jalil Abbas Jilani and following the recent developments in the relations between the two countries following Iran’s attack He visited the headquarters of the Jaish-e-Zalum terrorist group and Pakistan’s action in a drone attack on a point in the border region of the two countries on the evening of Sunday, the 8th of Bahman, and at the head of a political and security delegation, he traveled to Islamabad, on the afternoon of Monday, the 9th of Bahman. General Asim Munir, the commander of the Pakistani army, met and talked.

In this meeting, the parties reviewed the relations between the two countries in the political and security fields, and emphasized the necessity of implementing the existing agreements between Iran and Pakistan.

Also, it was decided that the security agreements between Iran and Pakistan should be seriously implemented at all levels, and with the planning and implementation of existing agreements in the security, border, economic, and commercial fields, especially gas pipeline and media affairs, seriously implement their work plan.

Amir Abdullahian also met and talked with his Pakistani counterpart, Jalil Abbas Jilani.

After the recent developments, the foreign ministers of Iran and Pakistan talked to each other on the phone twice, and following the agreement reached, it was decided that the ambassadors of the two countries would return to the capitals on Friday, the 6th of Bahman, which was accomplished on Friday. Also, Amir Abdullahian was scheduled to travel to Islamabad in response to his counterpart’s invitation, which was also done on Monday. This was the second bilateral visit of Amir Abdullahian to Islamabad after taking charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday night, August 11, 1402, at the head of a delegation and in response to the invitation of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the former foreign minister of Pakistan, in his first bilateral visit. Amir Abdullahian traveled to Islamabad in Azar 1400 to participate in the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the situation in Afghanistan, and on the sidelines of the meeting, he met and talked with some Pakistani officials, including Imran Khan, the former prime minister of this country.
