Burrell: The European Union has given 28 billion euros of weapons to Ukraine
The head of the European Union's foreign policy said that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the member states of the European Union have provided arms aid to the Kiev government in the amount of 28 billion euros. |
According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, “Joseph Borrell” in charge of the foreign policy of the European Union, said today (11 February) that the member states of this union will provide a total of 28 billion euros in aid to Ukraine from 2022 to the end of 2023. They have provided weapons.
Borrell said that the arms aid to the Kiev government is increasing and is expected to reach 21 billion euros this year alone.
In this regard, Moscow has protested this amount of arms aid in a note to NATO member countries; Moscow officials say that Western countries are gradually entering the war in Ukraine.
In Russia’s opinion, the large-scale sending of weapons to Ukraine will not only lead to peace, but also prolong it. It will lead to more war and destruction of Ukraine.
On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday night Tehran time that the European Union should continue to support Ukraine.
The French President said in a joint press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Olaf Kristerson in Stockholm: “The European Union must stand by Ukraine and support the Ukrainian people economically, financially, and militarily.” He continued: “We have a strategic goal. Russia should not win.”
Meanwhile, despite this amount of aid, “Valery Fedorovich Zalogeny”, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, admitted the failure of this country’s counterattack against Russia and said that the forces under his command have not succeeded in achieving real success on the front and all calculations were wrong.
