According to the foreign policy group of Fars News Agency, the joint statement of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait brought the reaction of the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
In this regard, the spokesman Nasser Kanani Tonight (Wednesday), 11th of February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said regarding the joint statement issued by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait following the visit of the Emir of Kuwait to Riyadh: As it has been announced many times, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to, within the framework of the results of previous negotiations with Kuwait, about Exploitation of common hydrocarbon resources in Arash field as well as demarcation of maritime boundaries, to continue bilateral negotiations with Kuwait. Moreover, this matter was emphasized in the last round of negotiations in March 1401 in Tehran.
In this statement, it is claimed that the oil and gas field of Al-Dara (Arash) is completely in the sea areas. Kuwait is located and it is a shared wealth only between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
He emphasized the principle of good neighborliness and the importance of the policy of strengthening relations with neighbors in the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: The Islamic Republic of Iran It is believed that an agreement on this case can be reached in an atmosphere of constructive cooperation and interaction and respecting the interests of the two countries.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: “Making unilateral claims in various statements and media does not provide a proper space for managing and advancing the issue, based on common interests and interests.”
This senior Iranian diplomat once again emphasized the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue technical negotiations in a friendly atmosphere with the aim of reaching a mutually agreeable solution.

After this announcement, Saeed Khatibzadeh, the former spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reacted to this agreement and said: “The Arash/Al-Dara gas field is a common field between the countries of Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and parts of it are within the territorial waters of about It is not located between Iran and Kuwait. According to international regulations and procedures, any action in the exploitation and development of this field must be done with the coordination and cooperation of all three countries, and therefore the recent action of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the form of a cooperation document is contrary to the current procedures and previous negotiations. It is illegal and has no effect on the legal status of the field and is not approved by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran also reserves its right to exploit the joint Arash/Al-Dara gas field.”
