According to the report of Fars News Agency, “Maria Zakharova”, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressed Armenia on Wednesday in a weekly press conference: “Those who seek to get closer to NATO should be aware of its dangerousness and consequences.” be aware of it. Zakharova stated: “Getting closer to NATO leads to involvement in conflicts, loss of sovereignty and independence, obedience to the will, and most importantly, the inability to realize national interests.”
According to this report, the head of the European Commission recently asked Armenia to join the NATO alliance. In a message on his user page on the “X” social network, “Gunter Flinger”, the head of the European Commission on NATO expansion, asked Armenia to join the NATO alliance.
He continued: “We We need to analyze all this and understand what is the national interest of Armenia, what is beneficial, what is short-term, what is medium-term, what is long-term.”
The director of the Institute of “New Russian State Development” also warned about the possibility of NATO presence in Armenia and said that as long as Armenia is a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, no US military base can exist in this country.
Dmitry Solonikov, director of the Institute of “New Russian State Development” said: “America is active all over the world. Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, Arctic and Europe and South Caucasus. Therefore, we cannot say that there is a special activity here compared to other places.”
