He explained in a radio interview: “We need to understand with whom we can really maintain military-technical and defense relations. Previously this problem was simple because there was no such question and there was no difficulty in formulating a defense doctrine. Previously, 95 to 97 percent of our relations were in the field of defense with Russia, but now this situation cannot be for objective and subjective reasons.” Pashinyan also reminded that it will be decided soon what Armenia establish relations with other countries, including India, Iran, Georgia and the United States, and this issue is being investigated. The Prime Minister added: whether our security relations with Russia will change and how it will change? Are we a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization or not? According to him, the compilation of documents related to Armenia’s foreign policy will be completed by the end of the year. In response to a question about the non-participation of Armenian authorities in the events of this organization, he emphasized that this is the only choice of Yerevan itself. although it has been under external pressure.
In late December, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also expressed his opinion that Armenia was exchanging a reliable alliance with Russia for vague promises and surrender. Western persuasions. However, he emphasized that Armenia remains Russia’s strategic partner in the South Caucasus region.
