The full text of the letter Iran as follows:
Continuing to previous correspondence, including letters dated December 4, 2023, January 2, and January 30, 2024 (S/2023/953, S/2024/9, S/2024/110), the present correspondence was prepared in response to the letter dated February 2024 (S/2024/135) of the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, while firmly rejecting the baseless accusations contained in the relevant letter against the Iranian armed forces, the military operations carried out by the United States of America in the territory of Iraq and Syria on the 2 strongly condemns February 2024.
These illegal operations have deliberately targeted civilians and essential infrastructure, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries among civilians. Such illegal actions not only violate international laws and the United Nations Charter, especially Article 2 (4), but also endanger the peace and stability of the region and are considered a serious threat to international peace and security.
In addition, the Republic of Iraq and the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemn the military actions of the United States, which clearly violate the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of these two countries. Therefore, the notification that the United States presents to the Security Council under Article 51 of the UN Charter lacks legal justification and does not legitimize such actions.
