This country is the closest country to Europe after the Maghreb and Algeria in terms of having 600 kilometers of coast overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, so it is strategically important to the West.
Mokhtar al-Husseino, the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of Mauritania, talked with the American Ambassador in Nouakchott, Cynthia Kerchett, about strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime navigation security.
This meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Economy of Mauritania, the two sides emphasized on strengthening maritime navigation security.
According to the Mauritanian news agency, during the negotiations between the American ambassador and the Mauritanian Minister of Fisheries and Marine Economy, a group of officials from this ministry and a delegation from the US Coast Guard were present.
