The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was dismissed

According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, dismissed “Valery Zalogeny”, the Commander-in-Chief of the country’s armed forces, from his post today.

BBC, the British state media, reported that Zalogheny was fired following media speculations about serious differences between Zelensky and him. Since February 2022, Zalogeny has been leading the Ukrainian army in the war with Russia.

“Rastem Umerov”, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, in a statement, while emphasizing Zalogheny’s departure from this position, said: “General Valery Zalogheny had one of the most difficult tasks, that is, leading the armed forces of Ukraine During the great war with Russia.”

He added: “But the war does not stay the same. War changes and demands change. War in 2022, 2023 and 2024 are three different realities. 2024 will require new changes for which we must be ready. New approaches and strategies are needed.”

Umarov noted: “Today a decision was made based on the need to change the leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”

“Valery Zalogeny” held an unprecedented press conference last month in response to a plan by the Kiev government to amend the military recruitment law and criticized these reforms.

Zalogeny a The day after the Ukrainian Parliament published the draft text of the reforms in the program of employing soldiers, he emphasized that he is not satisfied with these reforms. One of the provisions of this plan was to reduce the age of conscripts from 27 years to 25 years.

The publication of the provisions of this reform plan caused controversy among Ukrainian users on social media. Zalozheni, who rarely gives interviews to the media, held a press conference in this situation. This action was considered unprecedented during the Ukrainian war.

Zalojni said in that press conference: “I am not satisfied with the performance of the soldier recruitment offices at the moment.” The reserve force insists and has warned that replacing him will not improve the conditions on the battlefield and has emphasized the need to mobilize forces to maintain parity with Russian forces.

Of course, this issue was not the only reason for the disagreement between Zelensky and the commander of the Ukrainian army. The deadlock in the war after the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensives is among other reasons that have forced Zelensky to leave Zalogny.

But Zalognyi’s popularity and the level of trust in him, which is 88% ahead of Zelenskiy with 62%, made it difficult for the president of Ukraine to remove this commander. Zalogheny was known as the “Iron General” in Ukraine.

Some analysts have considered this popularity as one of the possible reasons that may have prompted Zelensky to remove him. Zalogeny is mentioned in some circles as a possible rival for the president of Ukraine.

Seymour Hersh, an American investigative journalist, recently quoted his sources as claiming that the president of Ukraine wants his top general because of secret negotiations with the West to end the conflict with Russia. data and also announced the readiness of some American officials to help him in the power struggle with Zelensky.

It is said that the US did not object to Zalogeni’s removal. Two sources said on Friday that the Ukrainian government has notified the White House that it plans to remove Zalogeny from office. ..
