Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan agree on 170 km common border

According to the Fars news agency reporter in Dushanbe, “Arif Khajezadeh”, the head of the state committee of land management and geodesy of Tajikistan, spoke about the border negotiations between this country and Kyrgyzstan in his press conference today.
According to his words, the general extension of the common border between this country and Kyrgyzstan is 987.6 km, and so far the two sides have agreed on 889.45 km of it, i.e. 90% of the common border line.
According to Khajezadeh, last year the topographic working groups of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan held 15 joint meetings, as a result of which 169.48 km of the state border line between the two countries was determined.
He further refused to provide more detailed information about the agreed sections of the border and said: the content of the protocols and documents related to the implementation of the work must remain confidential, strictly observed and after the satisfaction of each Both sides should be published.
Khwajazadeh commented on the final agreement on the demarcation of state borders that the President of Kyrgyzstan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey have promised to sign in spring and March this year.
