According to the regional office Tasnim News Agency, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party issued a call for nationwide demonstrations in protest against what it called fraud in the country’s elections.
In the continuation of the call, it is stated that peaceful protests will start from 14:00 today (Sunday, 22 Bahman) all over Pakistan.
The Tehreek Party Insaf, whose founder, Imran Khan, is in prison, was banned from participating in the elections, but the pro-party candidates who participated in the elections independently are leading with 102 votes, followed by The candidates of the “Muslim League (Nawaz)” party with 73 seats and the “People of Pakistan” party with 54 seats are in the second and third places.
The Tehreek-e-Insaf party needs 169 seats to form a government on its own, and in the current situation, despite its lead in the elections, it cannot form a government on its own.
The Parliament of Pakistan has a total of 342 seats. Of these, the fate of 266 seats is decided through direct elections. According to the constitution of Pakistan, 10 seats are reserved for religious minorities and 60 seats for women, which will be filled with relative representatives among parties with more than 5% of votes. .
This is while Nawaz Sharif’s Muslim League has declared victory, and at the same time, regardless of the lead of Imran Khan’s pro-Imran candidates, they are seeking an alliance with the Pakistan People’s Party. The leadership is Bilawal Bhuttozardari and Jamiat Ulema Pakistan.
Pakistan’s parliamentary and state elections were held on Thursday last week, but the final results have not yet been announced.
