Washington: Israel’s recent attacks in Rafah are not the beginning of a massive attack

The spokesperson of the US State Department said that US estimates do not indicate that the Israeli attacks in Rafah are the beginning of a large-scale attack there.

According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the spokesperson of the US Department of State announced on Monday that Washington does not support military operations in Rafah that do not take into account the presence of more than 1.1 million people there.

He went on to say: “Before any military operation in Rafah, there must be a valid plan that can be implemented”.

In its latest crime, the Zionist regime attacked Rafah in the southernmost point of the Gaza Strip and killed more than 100 people. While earlier he claimed that he would create a safe corridor for the refugees before the operation against this city. A hundred martyrs and dozens of wounded have arrived. This confirms the concern of the United Nations and international and regional organizations about the Israeli military’s ground attack on this city full of Palestinian refugees who were forced to take refuge in this area from different regions of Gaza by the same military.

This morning’s sudden attack by the Zionist regime on Rafah, located in the southernmost region of the Gaza Strip and on the border with Egypt, broke the fragile silence of this city and caused the terror of the Palestinian residents and refugees living in this city. They woke up to the sound of Israeli warplanes targeting the Al-Shabourah neighborhood located in the center and several areas in the east of the city. It was then that the sound of heavy gunfire was heard, which indicated a heavy conflict between the resistance forces and the Israeli soldiers who were planning to advance inside the city.

This was the first Israeli attack on Rafah after several weeks of repeated threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against this city. A city that currently hosts about 1.4 million people (half of the 2.2 million population of the Gaza Strip). Palestinian refugees who were forced to seek refuge in Rafah by the Israeli military have set up tents all over the city, and some are living in temporary shelters and shelters created in the city.
