The spokesman of the Taliban Foreign Ministry wrote on X channel that during this meeting, the beginning of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Azerbaijan, economic cooperation and issues of interest to both sides were discussed.

Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that this country will activate its embassy in Kabul in 2024.

According to the reports, the previous government of Afghanistan at that time had welcomed this decision, but the Azerbaijani embassy in Kabul had not been activated until now.
