US Central Command in the region claimed to have identified the missile as an “imminent threat” to US Navy ships and commercial vessels in the region.

CENTCOM also said that the “Houthis” (Ansarullah) launched four anti-ship ballistic missiles from areas under their control in Yemen towards the Red Sea.

The US Central Command added: From the afternoon (Sanaa time) on February 16 to 1:00 a.m. on February 17, four anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched from the areas under the control of Yemen’s Houthis (Ansarullah) supported by Iran towards the Red Sea. became. In 2021, US President Joe Biden’s government removed the Ansarullah movement from Washington’s terrorist list in order to facilitate the Yemeni peace negotiations.
