Egypt: Construction on the Gaza border is to facilitate the arrival of aid
Amidst reports of the construction of a "wall" on the Gaza border, Egypt claimed that the construction in this area was actually being done to facilitate the entry of aid. |
Mohammed Abdelfazl Shush, the governor of Egypt’s “North Sinai” province, claims that he is building a “logistics zone” in Rafah to facilitate the arrival of aid to Gaza.
According to Al-Ahram Masr newspaper, he says that this action, in addition to facilitating the work of the Egyptian Red Crescent, will reduce overcrowding on the roads.
Earlier, Associated Press, New York Times and other media reported that satellite images show that Egypt is building a “wall” on the border with the southern city of Rafah in Gaza.
Al Jazeera news agency wrote in this regard: This construction shows that Egypt is preparing to prevent Palestinian refugees from entering its territory.
It should be noted that the Zionist regime has announced its intention to attack the city of Rafah in Gaza. International authorities have warned that this action will worsen the disastrous situation in Gaza and the overflow of its population to Egypt.
About 1.5 million people of the population of Gaza have taken refuge in Rafah from its different regions and settled in the refugee camps in this city.
