Kabul’s request was not accepted/Taliban will not participate in the Doha meeting
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban government announced that it will not participate in the Doha meeting as the only responsible party representing Afghanistan due to the rejection of its request to attend the Doha meeting. |
According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency
, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban government in a statement announcing its absence from the Doha meeting wrote: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan believes that the meeting of the special representatives of different countries in Doha chaired by Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, was a good opportunity for frank talks. and constructively on the issues in dispute. The only responsible party will participate on behalf of Afghanistan, and the ground for clear high-level discussions between the Afghan delegation and the United Nations on all issues will be favorable; Sharing will be useful, but due to the lack of progress in this regard, sharing without results was not considered useful by the emirate. If the United Nations understands the existing facts and does not come under pressure from a limited number of parties and takes into account the fact that the current system of Afghanistan is not influenced by anyone like the regime of the past twenty years; It is possible to make progress in the talks with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
It is also emphasized at the end of this statement: two and a half years of interaction between the Islamic Emirate and the countries of the region showed that if the repetition of the failed experiences of the past twenty years is avoided and instead of unilaterally imposed decisions and pressures, If a realistic and pragmatic approach is taken, progress can be made in bilateral relations with other parties.
