Netanyahu: Holding early elections is in the interest of Hamas
In his recent press conference, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, considered the holding of early elections and political differences to the benefit of the Palestinian resistance groups. |
The official date of holding the next Israeli parliamentary elections is October 2026, but following the failure of the ruling cabinet of Israel in predicting and neutralizing the October 7th 2023 attack. Criticism of Netanyahu has increased and a large part of the Zionist community wants his resignation. Netanyahu said: “Political fighting in Israel is exactly what Hamas expects kills it We need unity now. The thing that can destroy our unity is the holding of early elections.” Netanyahu also said that Israel’s priority at the moment is to destroy Palestinian groups.
At the same time, almost all polls conducted in the occupied territories (except for the polls of Israel TV channel 14, which is an ally of Netanyahu’s Likud Party) show a sharp drop in popularity. It has Likud and Netanyahu. Most polls show that Likud, which won 32 seats in the November 2022 elections, is now polling under 20.
On the other hand After Netanyahu’s comments, two representatives of his party gave an anonymous interview to the Israeli media and confirmed that early elections will be held after the current war.
One of these Deputies told The Times of Israel: “The term of office of the person who was prime minister on October 7 will end at the end of the war.”
In the same context, Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition, also considered Netanyahu an unworthy prime minister and said: “If on October 7th in the prime time My ministry would happen, Netanyahu would send people to burn my house.”
