Belgium: Europe does not agree with Israel sanctions

Belgian Foreign Minister Haja Lehabib confirmed in an interview to Al Jazeera on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference that there is no agreement in the European Union to impose sanctions against the Sahih regime.

In this interview, Al Jazeera told the Belgian Foreign Minister why the Zionist regime has not been punished for its devastating war in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of tens of thousands of civilians, but the Yemeni forces were punished for defending the people of Gaza.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium emphasized the clear position of Belgium from the beginning, which calls for a return to peace, seeking solutions to the current crisis, and providing humanitarian aid and the release of prisoners.

He added: We want to return to negotiations and hold a special peace conference for the region. The European Union supports all peace initiatives in the region.

 He expressed his concern that if this situation is not addressed, the situation may get worse, because what is happening in Gaza is connected to many other issues and this war has repercussions in different places.

Lahabib also pointed out the need to take advantage of the current political momentum to solve this crisis and considered the lack of solutions as a bitter failure for all countries of the world. He asked his colleagues, the foreign ministers of all countries, to reach a solution for a permanent ceasefire.

The statements of the Belgian Foreign Minister are made with regard to the escalation of aggression by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and in the midst of increasing international requests to stop the war and resume talks and negotiations to achieve a permanent ceasefire.
