America’s profits from world wars

An American newspaper revealed that since the start of the war in Ukraine, Washington has made significant profits from arms sales.

The American newspaper Wall Street Journal confirmed that according to data from the Federal Reserve (US central bank system), since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war two years ago, production in the US military and space sector has increased significantly.

This newspaper announced that the supporters of the idea of supporting Ukraine in America, instead of talking about the country’s moral obligations, now present a more detailed argument when they talk about economic interests.

The Wall Street Journal detailed that the U.S. military industry has seen an increase in orders for weapons and ammunition over the past two years from European allies trying to build up their military capabilities, as well as from the Pentagon buying new equipment to replenish It is the military warehouses that have been evacuated as a result of delivery to Ukraine.

This American newspaper quoted Biden administration officials as saying that 64% of the $60.7 billion in the $95 billion defense bill was allocated to Ukraine. While wars often have economic consequences for the parties involved, the newspaper quipped that the benefits this time are occurring without the United States actually being a party to the war.

The US State Department recently announced that the country made more than $80 billion in major arms deals last year through September. The Wall Street Journal noted that the reduction in Russian gas supply led to a sharp increase in energy prices and inflation in Europe, and increased European demand for liquefied natural gas in the United States.

America became the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas in the world last year, and the country’s liquefied natural gas exports are expected to double by 2030, and about two-thirds of these exports go to Europe.
