Russia gives the green light to Türkiye’s membership in BRICS

report Mehr News Agency quoted TASS, Moscow and Ankara will discuss Turkey’s membership in BRICS.
In this connection, “Sergei Glazev”, Minister of Macroeconomics of Russia, at the commission meeting The Eurasian Economic Union (EEC) said in an interview with CNN: “Russia’s presidency in BRICS during 2024 may be a good reason for Moscow and Ankara to discuss the possibility of Turkey joining this organization.”
The Russian official added: “I believe that Turkey is a good partner [of Russia]. It depends on Turkey itself to decide to join BRICS or not. The doors of BRICS are always open and many countries have joined this organization
Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the BRICS summit in 2018. Russian President Vladimir Putin has also said that Ankara may join BRICS. Türkiye has not yet taken any action in this regard.
