, “Abdul Salam Hanafi, the deputy prime minister of the Taliban government, met with “Kani Wagnarajah,” the deputy secretary general of the United Nations and the head of the Asia and Pacific regional office of the organization’s development program.
According to the announcement published by “Arg”, Hanafi stated in this meeting: Due to the good performance of the Taliban government in various fields, the United Nations should take serious steps to recognize the ruling body of Afghanistan.
He stated: Islamic Emirate has been able to eradicate administrative corruption, eliminate the cultivation, use, smuggling and trade of drugs, establish stable peace and security, collect and help people destitute, collection and treatment of drug addicts and management of more than one million returning immigrants.
The deputy prime minister of the Taliban government further emphasized: We expect the United Nations to take serious steps to recognize the Islamic Emirate, considering the above actions.
This is while the second and last day of the Doha meeting hosted by the UN Secretary General and attended by representatives of 27 countries is being held.
Taliban had several important conditions to attend the Doha meeting, which they refused to participate in because it was not accepted by the United Nations; The main of these conditions was the acceptance of the Taliban delegation in this meeting on behalf of the official government of Afghanistan.
