Pashinyan: We are not Russia’s ally on the issue of Ukraine/ It is impossible to continue military cooperation with Moscow

Last night, the Prime Minister of Armenia, in a meeting with representatives of Armenian immigrants in Munich, Germany, emphasized that Yerevan is not Moscow’s ally in the matter of Ukraine. He said: “I have said for a long time that Armenia is not Russia’s ally on the issue of Ukraine.” And this is our honest position. Of course, the continuation of the military conflict in Ukraine hurts us a lot, and we cannot influence this situation, because we have friendly relations with the people of Ukraine. All countries and not just Armenia, because it was signed by the leaders of the former Soviet republics, including Russia and Ukraine, and then all borders were recognized.
It is impossible to continue military cooperation between Armenia and Russia
Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized that it is impossible to continue relations with Russia in the military field. The Prime Minister of Armenia explained: “We need to understand with whom we can really maintain our military-technical and defense relations. Previously, this was simple because such a question did not arise at all and there was no problem with this concept. Until now, 95-97% of our relations were in the field of defense with the Russian Federation, but now this cannot continue due to objective and subjective reasons. It is about what kind of relations it will create with other countries, including India, Iran, Georgia and the United States. Should we remain a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization or not? We are making decisions about all these issues.” According to him, the compilation of foreign policy documents will be completed by the end of this year.
