Orbán previously said that his country supports Finland and Sweden joining NATO, but Hungarian parliamentarians They are not ready to finalize it, because the authorities of these two countries are promoting “outright lies” about Hungary.
Due to the events in Ukraine, Finland and Sweden submitted applications to join NATO in May 2022. Finland became the 31st member of NATO on April 4, 2023. As for Sweden’s request, Hungary has not yet agreed to it.
