The Minister of Finance of the Zionist regime: There is no news of stopping settlement construction

Smotrich, the Minister of Finance of the Zionist regime, emphasized once again that there is no news of stopping settlement construction in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He said: Washington has not made the provision of weapons and ammunition to the Zionist regime conditional on the cessation of settlement construction.

Maariv newspaper quoted Smotrich and wrote: Ramadan is difficult in the West Bank and there is no news of Palestinian workers and receiving salaries, and Palestinians should know that they have to pay a heavy price.

The Minister of Finance of the Zionist regime makes these statements while the International Court of Justice has started holding public hearings on the legal consequences of the policies and actions of the Zionists in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, on Monday.

This court holds its hearings about the legal consequences of the Zionist regime’s occupation of Palestinian lands with the participation of 52 countries and the Arab League, the African Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The court is supposed to issue an advisory opinion on the legal consequences of the repeated violation of the Palestinian nation’s right to self-determination, which is the result of the long-term occupation of their land and the construction of settlements in the Palestinian lands.

In 2022, the UN General Assembly asked this court to issue an advisory or non-binding decision on the occupation.

Previously, the International Court of Justice issued a ruling on South Africa’s complaint in the case of a possible ground attack by the Zionist regime on the city of Rafah, located in the south of the Gaza Strip.
