The US proposed resolution for a “temporary ceasefire” in Gaza

The United States of America has submitted a resolution to the UN Security Council to establish a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.

Reuters reported that the United States has proposed a resolution for a vote in the UN Security Council that supports “the country’s support for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza”.

In part of the draft of this resolution, the United States has once again tried to show itself against Israel’s ground operations in Gaza.
This draft states: “In the current situation, a massive ground attack on Rafah will cause more damage to civilians and more of them will migrate to different areas, including to neighboring countries.”

It is not yet clear when this resolution will be voted on.

This draft was presented in a situation where Algeria proposed that 15 members of the Security Council vote on this country’s plan to establish a humanitarian ceasefire in the war on Tuesday.

America has always opposed the establishment of a ceasefire in more than four months since the war in Gaza. This country claims that establishing a permanent ceasefire will benefit Hamas.

Previously, there were reports of the US giving Israel a green light for ground operations in Rafah. A few days ago, three American officials revealed in a conversation with Politico that the Biden administration does not intend to reprimand Israel in case of an operation in Rafah.

Many experts and analysts warn that Israel’s possible operation will put the lives of more than half of the 2.3 million people of the Gaza Strip who have taken refuge in the city of Rafah in serious danger.
