In the recent meeting of the United Nations Security Council, which was held on February 14, 2024, under the agenda of the situation in the Middle East (S/2024/9548), unfortunately, once again the representative of the United States of America, by spreading false information and Making baseless accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the situation in Yemen and the Red Sea, he abused the podium of the Security Council to advance his short-sighted political agenda. The United States uses it to justify and legitimize its illegal actions and military aggression against Yemen.
As stated in the letter dated January 15, 2024, Iran continues to adhere to resolutions 2140 (2014) and 2216 (2015), the Security Council is committed and has not carried out any activities contrary to these resolutions, including the sale or transfer of weapons.
Furthermore, Iran has always defended the peaceful resolution of the Yemeni crisis through diplomatic channels. and emphasizes its commitment to maritime security and freedom of navigation.
Iran once again condemns the military aggression of the United States and England and the illegal use of force in Yemen; This military aggression clearly violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen, international law, the United Nations Charter and the relevant resolutions of the Security Council, and is a serious threat to the peace, stability and security of the region.
