NATO talks about the difficult days of the war in Ukraine
The NATO Secretary General said on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference that the war in Ukraine has reached a difficult stage and that NATO is monitoring Russia's victories. |
Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that the situation on the battlefield of Russia and Ukraine is difficult and Russia’s advances are not far from NATO’s eyes, and declared that a war that progresses in stages cannot be predicted.
According to France 24, NATO Secretary General said on the sidelines of the Munich conference that the US Congress is expected to find a way to agree on continuing to support Ukraine as additional aid.
Aid to Ukraine is currently stalled in the Republican-controlled US House of Representatives.
In response to a question about Donald Trump, the US presidential candidate, regarding NATO, he said: Regardless of the outcome of the presidential election, Washington will remain a committed ally of NATO.
Stoltenberg pointed to Trump’s comments in which he said he would encourage Russia to do whatever it wants with any NATO member country that doesn’t pay enough, stressing that having a strong NATO is in the interest of American security.
Norwegian intelligence agency has already stated that it believes that Moscow is getting its desired results in the war. In a blow to Kiev, Russia announced last weekend that it had taken control of the city of Avdiyoka after the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces.
