Maduro accused the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights of a conspiracy

After suspending the activities of the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in the country, the President of Venezuela emphasized that this office had acquired a terrorist nature.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro accused the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights of espionage and conspiracy. Meanwhile, the staff of this office were fired last week after the government forced it to suspend its activities.

According to AFP, Maduro said in a televised statement: This office has been destroyed. While it was a technical consulting office that was supposed to respect institutions and give recommendations for their improvement, it suddenly turned into an office of domestic espionage and conspiracy.

Pointing out that the government has warned the employees of this organization, he added: What we told that attorney’s office was that the office has turned into the office of terrorist conspirators, coup plotters and murderers.
After criticizing the arrest of Rocio San Miguel’s lawyer, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Ivan Gil announced on Thursday the suspension of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in the country and ordered its employees to leave within 72 hours. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela condemned the inappropriate role of this organization, which instead of showing itself as a neutral institution, has become the private office of coup plotters and terrorists who are constantly plotting against this country.

He announced that the suspension would remain in force until the colonial, abusive and UN Charter-violating position was publicly corrected before the international community, but stressed that Venezuela would cooperate with the Office of the High Commissioner. will continue in Geneva.
