Zakir Jalali, adviser to the Taliban’s foreign minister, wrote in X that the clear message of Kabul’s non-participation in the Doha meeting was to its organizers that Kabul wants interaction, but not at the cost of Afghanistan’s independence, honor and values.
He added: This meeting showed that the bilateral relations of the countries of the region with the Islamic Emirate is a reality based on mutual interests, and no one can deny the growing relations of the region and international forces with the Emirate.
Emphasizing that Kabul’s opinion on the appointment and role of the special representative cannot be ignored, Jalali stated: It has been practically shown that the old era is over. And the authority to make decisions about Afghanistan belongs only to the Afghans and the Afghan system.
