U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham was put on Russia’s list of terrorists and extremists because of his anti-Russian stance and his statements about the death of Russians in the Ukraine war
Evgenia Chirikova, a former environmental activist (known as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) is also one of the other figures on this list.
Graham, who is known for his anti-Russian positions, has repeatedly called for Russia to be included in the list of countries supporting terrorism; A list prepared by the United States. This senator also presented various options to intensify the sanctions against the Russian Federation.
In May 2023, the Ukrainian side released a video in which Graham, in a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the deaths of Russians during the conflict in Ukraine had been “Washington’s best investment.”
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the remarks “a disgrace to the United States,” and Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said such a plan to kill Russians “has been proven in the United States for a long time.”
Furthermore, the Reuters news agency, which reviewed the full recording of the meeting, reported that the American senator’s statements may be out of context. The Russian Foreign Ministry called these statements ridiculous and embarrassing American excuses.
