Yemen: America is the main enemy of the world
In response to the veto of the draft resolution of the Security Council, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the National Salvation Government of Yemen said that America is the main enemy of the world, which ignores the blood of Palestinians. |
Hussein Al-Azi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, said in a press conference on Wednesday, February 21: Just a few hours after Joe Biden expressed concern for the lives of civilians, the United States, with the draft resolution of the UN Security Council on an immediate ceasefire in The Gaza Strip objected that this is a clear contradiction with human rights.
He said: America’s veto in the Security Council shows that America is the main enemy of the world.
According to the Pravda news website, Al-Azi pointed out: America’s position in vetoing the draft resolution means ignoring the blood of the Palestinians and directly insulting the 57 countries that are currently demanding an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza.
Hussein Al-Azi also emphasized the safety of navigation in the Red Sea and said: Mehdi Al-Mashat, the head of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, has formed a humanitarian council to coordinate safe passage in the Red Sea, and this coordination is still ongoing.
He continued: Guaranteeing the safety of maritime navigation without Sana’a is an illusion and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong… Constructive negotiations between Sana’a and the European Union have confirmed that maritime navigation is safe… This week 283 safe and reliable ships have crossed the border. Red Sea… America is lying about sea navigation, we confirm that it is safe and there is no threat from Yemen… Three nationalities are banned from traffic in Red Sea: Israeli, American and British… America It cannot guarantee the safety of its ships, and they passed smoothly before the attack on Yemen, and now they [the United States] have become powerless.
On February 20, the United States used its veto power in the UN Security Council, blocking a draft resolution presented by Algeria calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. 13 out of 15 members of the Security Council, including Russia and China, voted for this resolution, and Britain abstained. Therefore, the United States was the only opponent of this document.
Vasily Nebenzia, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council, said that Washington continues to give Israel a “license to kill”. According to him, Algeria “organized the discussion of the draft resolution in good faith”, but the United States gave an ultimatum when it declared that the draft was dangerous because it hindered the ongoing negotiations.
