The silence in front of Rafah’s killing will be recorded in history

The Canadian University professor said that those who remained silent against Israel's genocide in Gaza and Rafah will be recorded in the minds of history and will be judged by future generations.

The war in the Gaza Strip has passed the middle of the fifth month and the Zionists announce their readiness to start ground operations in Rafah, the southernmost point of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army’s ground attack on Rafah is important in several ways, and paying attention to each of these dimensions, in addition to revealing one of the hostile aspects of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians, more than in the past, by showing the helplessness of the Zionists in facing the resistance. It will explain the future course of war a little more clearly than the past.

Now, to examine the various aspects of this issue, the Young Journalists Club has arranged a conversation with Robert Fantina, a professor at the University of Canada, which is detailed below.

– What do you think is Israel’s plan for Rafah?

Robert Fantina: Israel’s overall goal is to drive all Palestinians out of Gaza, either by driving them out of the region or by destroying them, all of these options are the same for the brutal racist Israeli government.

The world as shown by the massive and continuous demonstrations against Israel in support of the Palestinians that this genocide is unacceptable, on the contrary it is remarkable that most of the governments of the world ignore it, the simple fact is that Israel killed all Palestinians. He forced them to go to Rafah and they said they would be safe there, but these days Israel bombarded them too. While some of them were on their way and many others are now being bombed in a very crowded area, exactly where Israel told them to go for safety.

-In your opinion, how true are Israel’s recent claims about seeing some prominent Hamas commanders in secret underground tunnels?

Robert Fantina: The Israeli government always claims that its allies support them without any evidence. – There was no evidence in the hospital in Gaza City, and later evidence proved that it was Israel that bombed the hospital, which constituted a major war crime.

They earlier said resistance fighters beheaded babies within an hour of US President Joe Biden calling it genocide. Joe stated that actually his spokespeople should have said he saw no evidence for it, that’s just what Netanyahu told him when they present evidence they have no evidence at all, like when Israeli soldiers said that They have found a list of Hamas.

The names of the leaders on the wall of the hospital they attacked and the names of the Hamas leaders inside the hospital, but did they even provide a credible photo for it?! When Israel presented evidence of tunnels under hospitals, they showed pictures of the elevator shaft, not the tunnels in the Gaza hospital. It also claims to have killed 10,000 Hamas forces without any evidence, only the mutilated corpses of 30,000 innocent men, women and children who were killed by the Israelis without any guilt.

-What is your prediction of the future of this war and how long do you think it will last?

Robert Fantina: I don’t consider this a war between Israel and Hamas; And several other countries have entered this war against the Palestinian people, this genocide may continue for several months, because that is how long it will take to destroy the Palestinian people, and that is what Israel wants, and the rest of the world wants too much from the United States. United are afraid.

To avoid that, some countries have strongly opposed the genocide from the beginning, and others are now following suit, but often very weakly. History will judge them and their leaders harshly as it looks back on how they were complicit in the genocide.

Cabinet Status Netanyahu is currently presiding over the most radical right-wing racist government in the ugly history of Israel’s radical right-wing racist governments. to support The Israeli government includes the Minister of National Security, who has been convicted of inciting racism and supporting a terrorist group, and Bazar Lil Smutri, who holds a leadership role in the Ministry of War and oversees the West Bank.

Of course, the goal of some Israeli figures in annexing the West Bank is to keep them away from trial, because they are being tried for a number of serious crimes, but they want to keep their positions in the cabinet by any means, Netanyahu should not lose the support of his racist coalition to form the government. After the last election, this is one of the reasons why he does not listen to international criticism of his genocidal actions.

What effect will American support of Israel’s genocide have on the political future of this country?

Robert Fantina: America and the government of this country have forgotten Palestine, Biden will be very surprised on election day that people all over the country support and complicity in the genocide and the horrifying images of children and adults in They are dying and lying in the streets in a sea of blood, they will show him.

Apparently Joe believes that Democratic voters will look at Donald Trump’s alternative and decide to keep him out of the White House in order to vote for Biden again. He is wrong. There are many third party candidates, some of whom have strongly condemned Israel even before the current genocide, and while they have no chance of winning, the votes show that there is no Biden or Trump in America today. They do not have popular support, there is a strong belief that Trump will be worse for Palestine than Biden, in addition, there is a feeling that Biden should be punished for his role in this genocide, and his failure to run for a second term in part It fulfills the sense of justice.

Robert Fantina is a journalist and political activist for peace and international human rights. Her writing is regularly published on various websites, and her news and notes are included in Canada’s Free Fall: A Magazine of Exquisite Writing. He lives near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is the author of many books on politics and geopolitics and has done many studies on Palestine.
