New British sanctions against Russia on the eve of the anniversary of the war in Ukraine
Britain announced a new package of sanctions against Moscow on the eve of the Ukraine war entering its third year. |
The new British sanctions against Russia target more than 50 Russian individuals and institutions. It has been said that the mentioned individuals and institutions are related to the Russian munitions industry and the country’s income sources such as the export of metals, diamonds and energy.
According to Reuters, US Secretary of State David Cameron stated in a statement that the purpose of the new round of sanctions is to impose “international economic pressure” on Russia and limit the country’s resources.
The British Foreign Ministry also announced that the importers and manufacturers of defense systems and parts such as missiles, engines, tanks and fighter jets are subject to sanctions.
Yesterday, the European Union imposed a wide-ranging sanctions package against Russia, which targets about 200 entities and individuals involved in the supply of weapons to Russia.
The sanctions packages are imposed against Moscow while this country has recently captured the Ukrainian city of “Audioka”. Analysts have considered this event to be the biggest success for the Russian army since the capture of the city of Bakhmut.
