America: More than 500 individuals and institutions were sanctioned in Russia

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the US Department of Treasury announced that more than 500 individuals and organizations in Russia were sanctioned for violating human rights.

The Treasury Department and the US government jointly sanction more than 500 targets to impose additional costs on Russia’s repression, human rights abuses, and aggression against Ukraine. The Ministry of Commerce also adds more than 90 companies to the blacklist of entities.

The US Treasury Department added: To deprive Russia of the resources it needs to support its brutal war against Ukraine, it is imposing sanctions on targets including a major base in Russia’s financial infrastructure. These sanctions also include more than 12 people in third countries in Europe, East Asia, Central Asia and the West Asia and hundreds of entities in Russia’s military-industrial base and other key sectors.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said: “This great anniversary of the war and the death of Alexei Navalny while in Russian custody is a reminder of Putin’s blatant disregard for human life, from Ukraine to Putin’s opponents in Russia.”
The US Treasury Secretary added: “Russia’s economy and military-industrial base are showing clear signs of weakness, in part because of the actions we are taking with our partners and allies around the world to support Ukraine’s courageous defense.” We have given.”

Yellen said: “Putin has endangered the present and future of the Russian people because of his goals in Ukraine.” The Kremlin has preferred to change its economy towards making weapons to kill its neighbors at the cost of the economic future of the people of this country.”

“We must continue to support Ukraine, to weaken the Russian war machine,” he said. “It is critical that Congress joins our allies around the world to provide Ukraine with the tools it needs to defend itself and be free from Putin’s ruthless onslaught.”
