According to Tasnim news agency from Zahedan, despite the heavy shadow of drought Regarding Sistan and Baluchistan and the bad faith of the rulers of Afghanistan and the country’s non-compliance with the international agreement on the release of Hirmand water rights, the government, which considers itself obliged to provide services to the people, did not stop its efforts and by simultaneously compiling and implementing 3 emergency, short-term and In the medium term, it aims to solve the water concerns of the people of Sistan and Baluchistan and provide sustainable water for this province. The title of lasting service from the 13th government should be remembered for the people of this land.

On this basis, large-scale projects such as the implementation of the water transfer project from the Sea of Oman as a sustainable water source, The water transfer plan from the eastern aquifer for the provincial capital and the implementation of the emergency water supply plan for the Sistan and Zahedan region were initiated in the 13th government and are now being implemented with good progress. The installation of the largest water desalination plant in the Middle East in Sistan is also being pursued as part of the province’s emergency water supply project. Explaining the importance of implementing these plans in the province, he said: There are many challenges for water supply in the region of Sistan and Baluchistan, including the dependence of the province on border waters, decrease in rainfall and long-term droughts, which, along with a sharp drop in underground water resources, lead to a quantitative decrease and The quality of water resources has also improved. He stated that Sistan and Baluchistan is poor in terms of water resources and added: Currently, more than 90% of the province’s water resources are affected. There has been a drought.

He stated that in Sistan and Baluchistan, due to its vastness, we see different climates, he continued: The conditions of the province are different in terms of weather conditions. If there is a flood in one part of the province, there is a drought in another part of the province. Referring to the most important current challenge in the water supply of Sistan region and Zahedan city, he stated: the drought in the north of the province and the non-fulfillment of water rights by the country of Afghanistan in the last few years have caused the volume of water reserves of “Chahnimeh” to decrease unprecedentedly. And water harvesting for one million and 500 people who live in Zahedan and 11 cities and 945 villages and settlements in Sistan region should be done through the design and construction of floating barges.

Ghasemi added: Simultaneously with the transfer of water in semi-wells and water harvesting under new conditions, from December 1401, the study and implementation of the emergency water supply plan from underground water sources was put on the agenda to use these sources to reduce the water stress imaginable in Sistan and The city of Zahedan due to Afghanistan’s non-compliance with the Hirmand Treaty of 1351 should be reduced to the minimum possible.

He stated that three plains were identified in the area of Dashtak for water harvesting, and added: So far, the drilling and equipping of 75 wells, the implementation of about 100 km of water transmission lines and 120 km of electricity transmission lines for the implementation of this project have been completed.

CEO Sistan and Baluchistan Water and Wastewater was reminded: the plan to provide part of the water needed by the residents of Sistan and Zahedan from the Dashtak region includes drilling and equipping wells, implementing water and electricity transmission lines, building a pumping station and a water desalination plant, with a credit amounting to 4000 billion Tomans in It is being implemented.

He said in connection with the details of the 100,000 cubic meter water desalination plant of the emergency plan: for this reason, it is called the largest water desalination plant, and usually with this volume of desalination, water desalination plants They are implemented next to the beaches, but due to the emergency situation for the supply of drinking water in the northern region of the province and a part of Zahedan city and the necessity of sweetening to improve the quality of drinking, it was necessary to install this volume of devices in the place.

He emphasized: The water sources identified in the area that are capable of being harvested are considered brackish and brackish waters, so it is necessary to desalination on these sources to improve the quality.

He announced the process of sweetening water in the Hamon Hirmand plain through the reverse osmosis (RQ) system, which is one of the most common methods of sweetening in the world.

The CEO of Sistan and Baluchistan Water and Sewerage Company predicted the operation period of the project for 3 years and added: until the completion of other water supply projects in the region, including water supply from the eastern aquifer of the province and transfer of water from the Oman Sea, The emergency plan is supposed to supply the people with drinking water, and then a decision will be made regarding the method of harvesting and the amount of desalination. and added: its credit will be paid from the approved water stress site and based on the progress of the work. He said: With the operation of the water softener, the problem of drinking water shortage in Zahedan city will be solved to some extent, and since a part of the water supply of the Sistan region will come from this project, it can be said that about 50 to 60 percent of Sistan will be supplied with water with this water softener.

The CEO of Sistan and Baluchistan Water and Sewerage Company stated the quality of water produced by the water softener according to the defined and potable standards and added: After the start-up and operation From the transmission line of the Oman Sea, because the Oman plan will solve part of the shortage of drinking water, these devices will be installed and used to supply Zahedan with drinking water in the outskirts of the city or in places that have salty water.

He said that providing water to Sistan and Zahedan is the focus of the government’s emergency projects to resolve water tensions, adding: We will do our best to allay people’s concerns about the water conditions in the region, which is the most important concern. These are the days of the government to fix.
