White House: It is difficult to seize Russian assets

The spokesman of the White House announced that it is difficult to seize and transfer Russian foreign assets to Ukraine because they are stored in international platforms.

White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre pointed out that it is difficult to seize Russian assets because they are stored in international platforms and said: “Washington has recognized the specific problems associated with the withdrawal of frozen assets of the Russian Federation.

Jean-Pierre said: “It is somewhat difficult because they are stored on international platforms; So it is a bit difficult. It’s not as easy as it seems.”

According to TASS, he emphasized that Washington is looking for a solution to overcome this issue with its allies and partners, including the Group of Seven, as well as with members of Congress.

After the start of special military operations, Western countries froze Russian assets worth more than 350 billion dollars, which were stored in the United States, Canada and European countries.

The frozen assets of Russia in the European Union were supposed to be used to support Ukraine. The relevant regulation of the European Commission was approved by the participants of the Brussels meeting. The income from the assets of the Russian Federation will be part of the financial aid to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russia is actively preparing to file a lawsuit to thwart any Western effort to transfer even a fraction of its assets to Ukraine. It is reported that Moscow has already reached agreements with international law firms to represent its interests in various courts.
