Florida restricts the access of people under the age of 16 to cyberspace

Florida state lawmakers have passed a law that will limit the access of people under the age of 16 to cyberspace.

report Mehr News Agency According to Reuters, Florida’s Republican-controlled state Congress passed legislation to protect young people from health threats. Rowan limits the access of people under the age of 16 to cyber space.

The law, which will be sent to the office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for signature, requires cyberspace platforms disables the user account of people under 16 years of age and will use a third-party authentication system to monitor people under the legal age.

According to DeSantis, cyberspace is harmful for children, but parents can play a supervisory role. The former candidate for the 2024 US presidential election, who withdrew in favor of Donald Trump, the former president of this country, believes that this law may lower the level of parental supervision.

The proposed bill has been approved in the Florida House of Representatives with 108 votes in favor (against 7 votes against).
