UNRWA has reached the breaking point

According to the Commissioner General of UNRWA, the agency's ability to carry out the mission given by UN Resolution 302 is seriously threatened.

Lebanon-based al-Mayadeen television channel reported that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has reached a breaking point in its efforts, citing the statement of Philip Lazzarini, the commissioner general of this organization.

Lazzarini said: I have to inform you with deep regret that UNRWA has reached the breaking point.

He pointed out: The agency’s ability to carry out the mandate given by [UN] General Assembly Resolution 302 is now seriously threatened.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed in an interview with Talk TV that 13 UNRWA employees were directly or indirectly related to the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The United Nations agency tasked with helping Palestinians in Gaza has come under scrutiny in recent weeks after Israel accused several of its staff of helping Hamas carry out deadly attacks on Israeli cities on October 7. has taken.
