The inspector general of the US Department of Defense announced that this institution plans to investigate more than 50 cases related to aid provided to Ukraine, which include corruption, theft, procurement fraud and fraud.
According to Arti, Pentagon Inspector General Robert Storch also warned that more investigations may be conducted into the “misuse or diversion” of military equipment that the United States sent to Ukraine.
It was said earlier that some military items sent to Ukraine disappeared or were found in other countries. It is not known whether these shipments were lost or stolen.
In the two years that have passed since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the United States has spent approximately 113 billion dollars in aid to Kiev. About 45 billion dollars of this amount have been spent on weapons, ammunition and other military support for the forces of Kiev.
In the summer of 2022, CBS reported in a report that only about 30 percent of the weapons sent by the West actually reached the front lines in Ukraine.
