According to Reuters, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a press conference: We continue to support the right of the Ukrainian people to defend themselves. This approach necessarily means military support.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also stated: Today, shoulder to shoulder with allies and partners, we committed to provide more aid to Ukraine; including military and humanitarian aid.
Melloni did not disclose the amount of Italian aid to Ukraine, but Trudeau’s office said Canada will give Kiev more than $2.22 billion in 2024.
These agreements were signed on the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine, as Maloney, Trudeau, Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croix and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kiev by train from Poland on Saturday to emphasize their support for Ukraine. .
Zelensky signed other security agreements with Germany and France during his trip to Berlin and Paris eight days ago.
According to the agreement between France and Ukraine, Paris has pledged to provide more weapons and three billion euros of military aid to Kiev.
France also pledged to export more weapons to Kiev, including air defense systems, and train Ukrainian soldiers.
The agreement between Berlin and Kiev also states that Germany will use all possible methods to use Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine and help it in rebuilding the country’s infrastructure.
Ukraine planned to sign a security agreement with the member countries of this military alliance before joining NATO and signed a security agreement with England in January.
