Secret trip of CIA chief to Ukraine

The New York Times reported on the secret trip of William Burns, the head of the CIA, to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on Thursday. According to this newspaper, this is the 10th visit of the head of the CIA to Ukraine since the beginning of the Ukrainian war in February 2022. More funding for the Ukrainian military is at a standstill, and Burns’ visit to Ukraine is probably to assure the continuation of Washington’s financial and weapon aid to Kiev. The Ukrainian army is severely lacking in ammunition and weapons, especially in the field of artillery and defense systems. The Ukrainian army has recently been forced to retreat from the strategic city of Avidoka and several other points against the Russian army.
