According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, the global program Food, as one of the largest international institutions in the field of food security and hunger relief, emphasized in a report that it needs 760 million dollars in urgent aid to continue its activities in Afghanistan in the next six months.
This international organization stated in a report on the X social network: About 16 million people in Afghanistan do not know where to get their next meal.
The report added that about four million infants and pregnant women are malnourished in Afghanistan.
Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) announced that 23.7 million people in Afghanistan will need humanitarian aid in 2024.
This organization said that aid agencies have set a goal to address the needs of more than 17 million people and need 3.6 billion dollars in aid for that.
Last month, the World Food Program, referring to the current situation in Afghanistan, stated: Poverty alleviation in Afghanistan requires a long-term and stable solution.
The World Food Program’s operations are funded by grants from governments, companies and private donors.
