Request for Canada’s participation in the financing of Ukrainian grain exports

Poland wants Canada's participation in financing Ukrainian grain exports to countries in need.

According to Mehr News Agency to Quoted from Tass, Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister of Poland announced Warsaw’s readiness to expand cooperation with Canada on the issue of financing the export of Ukrainian grain to needy and famine-stricken countries.

Tusk stated this in a press conference after meeting with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau and said: We discussed how Canada and Poland can increase the volume of exports. We discussed to expand Ukrainian grain to these countries to a significant extent.

He said that Warsaw is ready to “actively participate in this type of activity and finance this process.”

Earlier, Krzysztof Getman, Minister of Development and Technology of Poland, announced that the European Commission could send surplus agricultural products of Ukraine on the European market to African countries.

On February 9, farmers in Poland began mass demonstrations and closed border checkpoints with Ukraine. Farmers are demanding that imports of cheap agricultural products from Ukraine be limited or completely banned in order to increase support for local livestock farming.
