In a video message addressed to the participants of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, he continued: The international community should interfere with the internal politics of other countries under the pretext of to oppose the protection of human rights.”
Wang Yi stressed the need to firmly insist on honesty and justice and oppose the intervention of countries and the limitation of their development under the guise of human rights, and the importance of “standing the world against hegemonic policies based on force” and double standards”.
Wang Yi also stated that it is necessary to defend the principles of cooperation along with tolerance and respect for the diversity of world civilizations and the independence of all countries, adding: You cannot impose your values and development models on others. Continuing his speech, the Chinese Foreign Minister pointed out that the international community has a common responsibility to protect human rights and added: “We must insist on the sovereignty of the people.”
Wang Yi pointed out that there is no such thing as “best”, but the term “most suitable” can be used for human rights. He emphasized that China helps protect human rights more effectively through its updated and modern policy. At the end of his speech, he said: “We always link the fate of the people of the world with our own destiny, we actively confirm universal human values, and we cooperate with all those interested in building a human society with a common future.”
