Putin: We will increase the offensive power of Russian special operations forces
Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to increase the offensive power and dynamics of the special operations forces of his country's army. |
According to Reuters, Putin said on Monday night in a video on the occasion of February 27 (8th March) Day of the Russian Special Operations Forces: We will strengthen the special operations forces, increase the offensive potential and dynamics. We will continue them and arm these forces with the new generation of weapons and equipment.
He added: I emphasize that this is one of the key priorities for the development of land and sea forces in the long term.
Russia’s “special operations forces” are a part of the country’s armed forces that are designed to carry out special missions. These special forces have been involved in Russia’s covert actions in Syria over the past decade and the attack on Ukraine.
On February 21, 2022 (March 2, 1400), Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, criticizing the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns.
Earlier on Thursday, March 5, 1400, Putin launched a military operation that he called “special operation” against Ukraine, and thus the tense Moscow-Kiev relationship turned into a military confrontation, and this war is still ongoing. /p>
