Qatar: Hamas and Israel have not yet agreed on the main issues

Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesman of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, said: “We cannot react to the statements of US President Joe Biden, who predicted that a ceasefire agreement will be reached in Gaza by next Monday.” There is no new development about the ceasefire agreement in Gaza that can be announced.
According to Al Jazeera, he said: Hamas and the Zionist regime have not agreed on the main issues related to the ceasefire in Gaza, but we are optimistic about the negotiations and are working to remove the obstacles. We hope that both sides can stop the war during the month of Ramadan.

Al-Ansari said: We did not see any real pressure from the international community for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. It is painful that the issue of humanitarian crisis is part of the negotiations. Aid flows to Gaza have decreased and the international community must intervene. We ask all sides to establish a ceasefire.

Previously, US President Joe Biden, while expressing hope for a ceasefire in the Gaza war by next Monday, emphasized: “I hope that a ceasefire will be established by the end of the week or the beginning of next week (according to the Gregorian calendar).”

He told reporters during his trip to New York: “My national security advisor said we are close to a ceasefire.” Nothing has been done yet, but I hope that a ceasefire will be established by next Monday.”

A US official said US negotiators were trying to reach an agreement to stop the war for the release of prisoners until the start of the holy month of Ramadan, and senior US officials were working on this issue last week. This official said it seems that due to the meeting of the Zionist officials with the Qatari officials, this “optimism to reach a ceasefire is increasing.”

On Monday, Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani discussed the developments of the Palestinian issue and the ceasefire in Gaza in a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas movement, and emphasized the importance of unity among Palestinian groups.
