– International news

According to the report of the international group Tasnim News Agency, Amir Saeed Today, Tuesday, at the meeting of the UN Security Council on “The situation in the Middle East: (Syria)”, Irvani explained Iran’s views. Peaceful security, Syria continues to face serious challenges, the most serious of which are foreign forces that have occupied parts of the country, terrorist groups recognized by the Security Council that have taken control of some areas, as well as the ongoing aggression of the Israeli regime against Syria. which is a clear violation of international laws.

Irvani also said: In the meantime, the Israeli regime’s continuous missile attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure complicate the situation in Syria, causing a halt It hampers humanitarian activities and humanitarian access.

The text of Irvani’s speech is as follows:

“The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the Israeli regime because of such Violation is strongly condemned.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always declared that the Syrian crisis should be resolved peacefully and based on the United Nations Charter and international laws, as well as with full respect for independence, national sovereignty and integrity. Territorial settlement of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Irvani: The US attack on Iraq and Syria violates the norms and basic principles of international law

In this context, we believe that all foreign forces who are illegally present in Syria should leave this country without any preconditions or delays. Terrorist groups should not be allowed to use millions of civilians as human shields to carry out their heinous activities. The Israeli regime must also end its aggressive actions against Syria.

The Security Council must fulfill its responsibilities and guarantee the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

The humanitarian crisis in Syria is still dire. Syrian people are suffering from deep economic challenges.

According to United Nations estimates, 15.3 million of Syria’s population of 23.2 million need humanitarian assistance this year.

Despite the efforts of the UN and its humanitarian partners to deliver essential aid to those in need, the continued impact of illegal unilateral sanctions as well as the politicization of humanitarian aid have placed a disproportionate burden on the Syrian people. including women and children.

Applying unilateral sanctions against the Syrian people while claiming to be concerned about its miserable human condition is nothing but hypocrisy. These illegal and destructive practices must be stopped immediately.

Irvani: Iran has no activities contrary to the resolutions, including the sale or transfer of weapons to Yemen , has not

Furthermore, humanitarian aid and reconstruction projects in Syria should not be used as a tool to exert political pressure on the Syrian government.

The Islamic Republic of Iran appreciates and thanks the efforts of the Syrian Arab Republic to support and facilitate humanitarian access to all regions of this country.

The Islamic Republic of Iran respects the sovereign decision of the Syrian government to extend the permission granted to the United Nations and its specialized agencies to use the “Bab Al-Havi”, “Bab al-Salamah” and “Al-Ra’i” crossings. It welcomes for another six and three months respectively.

We emphasize the need for unhindered access to humanitarian aid, especially through the cross-border mechanism and in full coordination with the Syrian government.

Similarly, the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the importance of reconstruction projects that are critical to strengthening Syria and allowing displaced people to return home. Unfortunately, these projects are not financed or implemented due to the destructive effects of unilateral coercive measures.

We seize the opportunity and again condemn the theft of natural resources of the Syrian people in the areas occupied by the US forces.

To ensure a more effective political solution to the Syrian crisis, the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to strongly emphasize that the Syrian-led and owned political process, facilitated by the United Nations, It is the only practical approach to end the crisis.

We support the resumption of the Constitutional Committee meetings as an effective mechanism to advance the political process.

The Iraqi government has shown its willingness to host the next round of meetings in Baghdad, which has been positively received by the Syrian government and the guarantor countries of the Astana process. The Islamic Republic of Iran wants the parties involved to seize such an opportunity and prioritize fundamental discussions over procedural issues.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, together with its partners in the Astana process, is committed to work towards the normalization of the situation in a long-term and stable way in and around Syria.

This commitment was renewed once again at the recent meeting of the Astana process held on January 24-25.

We also express our support for continued dialogue between Syria and Turkey as part of this effort.

The Islamic Republic of Iran also supports efforts and cooperation in the form of the Astana process to reveal the fate of disappeared persons.

It is also very important to make all possible efforts to facilitate the safe and honorable return of Syrian refugees to their homeland and to meet their humanitarian needs.

Finally, the Islamic Republic continues its contacts with the Syrian government, the UN special envoy and its partners in the framework of the Astana process, so that the crisis ends as soon as possible and the suffering Syrian people will decrease.”
