Russia: The US resolution on Gaza is a license to kill
According to the permanent representative of Russia in the United Nations, the proposed draft of the American resolution in the Security Council is "a license to kill Palestinian civilians". |
Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, said on Tuesday that the draft UN Security Council resolution on the Gaza Strip proposed by the United States is a “license to kill Palestinian civilians”.
During his speech at the UN Security Council meeting, Nebenzia emphasized that the US draft, which was presented by the US after the Algerian resolution on Gaza was vetoed, aims to “expand the UN umbrella for Israel’s operations in the enclave”.
He urged members of the UN Security Council not to support the US draft, or risk supporting “this destructive initiative”.
He continued: America plans to use its proposal for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza so that Israel can kill Palestinian civilians.
This diplomat, whose speech was published by the Telegram channel of the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, said: The recent continuous attacks by the United States on targets in Iraq and Yemen are a direct threat to international peace and security. He said: “Washington is fully responsible for the unprecedented number of casualties by obstructing international efforts to end the violence in Gaza.”
