According to the Sputnik news agency, the spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on the Telegram messenger: “The tripartite meeting between Mirzovian, Barbok and Bayramov has started in Berlin.”
Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan have had a long-term conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The control of this region, where the majority of its residents were of Armenian descent, fell to the Republic of Azerbaijan in September 2023.
Following the attack of the Republic of Azerbaijan, most of the native residents of Karabagh fled to Armenia, and the authorities of Karabagh gave up all their claims of independence from the Republic of Azerbaijan.
However, peace talks between Yerevan and Baku have stalled in recent months, and both sides still disagree on a number of provisions of the proposed treaty.
Two weeks ago, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the mediation of German Chancellor Olaf Schultz and decided to resume the peace process.
