Erbil has granted a passport to a leader of a terrorist group opposed to Iran
Some Iraqi news sources reported that Erbil has granted a birth certificate and passport to "Mustafa Hejri", the leader of the terrorist group opposing Iran. |
The Kurdistan region of Iraq has granted a birth certificate and a passport to Mustafa Hejri, the leader of the terrorist group against Iran.
In this regard, the “Al-Malala” website, quoting informed sources in Iraq, wrote that Erbil authorities granted Mustafa Hijri an Iraqi passport in 2008, and it was extended until 2024 in 2016.
Kurdish sources, in justifying the granting of a passport and birth certificate to Mustafa Hejri, the head of the leading group known as “Kurdistan Democrats”, stated that the granting of the passport was due to Hejri’s presence in Iraq for several years.
According to this report, the issue of granting Iraqi passports and birth certificates to Iran’s opposition leaders once again raised the issue of citizenship for non-Iraqis with Iraqi birth certificates in the media circles of this country.
Previously, the Iraqi parties had accused the Kurdistan Region authorities of granting Iraqi citizenship to some Kurdish dissidents, elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces or the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) based on the border between Iraq and Syria.
This is despite the fact that according to Iraqi laws, the granting of Iraqi citizenship is exclusively under the authority of the Minister of Interior (based in Baghdad).
